J-Carter releases new Album Time to Shine

J-Carter is based out of New Jersey. Motivated by a plethora of hip-hop artists who have appeared on the scene during the past 30 years, Carter began his musical journey by writing lyrics at the age of 13. “Time to Shine”, his debut album, has been in the works for nearly 2 years now. “And now it’s here to hopefully shed light on all aspects of the world we live in,”says J-Carter. The Deluxe version of the album includes 19 tracks and features Cateasha Carter, Jasmine Carter, Aaron Carter, Jacee Carter and Janiya Harris. “Time to Shine” is a clinic of Hip-Hop execution, an insanely long album that is almost devoid of filler which is a near impossibility in the genre. J-Carter’s flow is diverse, deftly maneuvering between melodic catchy hooks to ridiculously fast rhymes that are often genius in their complexity.

“Still A Killa”, “Ain’t Yo Ni**a”“Got It Going On” ft. Cateasha Carter“Hold Mine Down” ft. Jacee Carter and “Remember When” all show J-Carter flowing at an absurdly high level and backed by stunning beats that are powerfully strong in their own right, but are still overshadowed by the smooth flow of the vocal deliveries themselves.

J-CarterThe strength of “Time to Shine” is more than quality flows, rhymes, and beats; it’s alarmingly consistent in a genre that is anything but, and stands as an utter achievement of rap art. It weighs strong lyrically and accessibility wise, and is an overwhelmingly well executed Hip-Hop album from a vocal delivery standpoint.

J-Carter’s talent is undeniable, and almost impossible to conceive until you press play. J-Carter is one of the purest underground rappers to grace the mic. When you talk about lyrics, punchlines, metaphors, flow and mic presence, Carter has it all. Check him out on killer tracks such as “Who Here Wit Me” ft. Aaron Carter and Cateasha Carter“Get Up Off That”, “I’m On It” and “Keep It 100”.

From the above tracks you can gauge that J-Carter’s key to a successful sound though is not just the sheer verbal wizardry but his ability to tap into crossover audiences with songs that mixed fly beats, soulful samples and a strong personality.

He is also equally good at holding down entire tracks on his own, or sharing verses and choruses with his features. The bottom line is, if your head isn’t furiously bobbing to some of these beats, you’re either tone deaf or just aren’t a fan of hip hop at all.

So while the beats are created to make your neck sore, J-Carter only enhances the experience by riding each beat flawlessly. And his ability to utilize imagery just from the ambience of each song is amazing. J-Carter’s confidence on the mic makes him stand out among his contemporaries.

By the end of the album, most listeners will be begging for more of this refreshing sound. “Time to Shine” is an album that provides an immediate impact and seeks a steady response from fans in all four corners of the hip-hop world.

The lyrics sung will supply the elation that fills rooms, bring the nostalgia that transports us to the late 90’s, and fuels an assertive voice that booms through the microphone. The album “Time To Shine” is on the shelves of all major digital download stores. Find and follow J-Carter on Twitter and Facebook. Visit his Website for more information.
