DEKALOG releases EEN

DEKALOG band has recently released an album titled “Een”. The talented team including Sonny Dhanowa, Dan Roberts, Fien Desmet and Amazumi and their collaboration and innovation helped creating this great album. The album has ten exceptional songs which include rap verses with poignant vocals.

DEKALOG partnership’s signature sound is the staple of their music. It’s a style that represents creativity, artistic vigour. Their music puts a flavorful dark spin on the Alt/Pop and Hip Hop/Trip Hop genres. It showcases every side of the band’s skills and talent. It’s a wonderful listening experience and feeling. Guest musicians from around the world enhance the album with additional flavour not commonly seen in other albums.

Now, let us introduce Sonny Dhanowa, Dan Roberts, Fien Desmet and Amazumi to listeners who do not already know them:

Sonny Danowa

Sonny Dhanowa is a world traveler. He deejays and promotes his music where ever he is at from Bristol to London to Barcelona to Antwerp. He has been a breaker, deejay, an mc. He has also produced various albums and EPs in the past.

Sonny works with a throng of world-wide musicians. He amasses a cast of characters to help create his music. He entwines everyone’s performances together into a stimulating music.

Dan Robert

Dan Roberts is a South London based songwriter. H has worked on various eclectic projects throughout his extensive music career. He is a recognised composer, lyricist as well as a session guitarist.

Dan is proficient in both the electric and acoustic guitars. He has played in various musical setups across the UK. He has also written and performed his own solo folk-based material in the past. Now, he sculpts an online niche collaborating. He works on individual projects that place an explicit prominence on creativity.

There has been a “fake News” spreading that Dan is currently living in the Los Angeles underground as a fugitive to the law – evading the charge of public onanism, thus so, Dan remains the ‘ghost member’ of the DEKALOG duo. This is completely false.

Fien Desmet

Fien Desmet is an adaptable Belgium singer, songwriter and composer. She started composing her own music at a very early age. She was performing on various stages around the country since she was very young. She has always captivated audiences with her unique voice and piano playing.

Fien studied Jazz at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. She obtained her master’s degree there. She was tutored by Tutu Puoane, Kristina Fuchs, Barbara Wiernik, Inge Minten and Kurt Van Herck, amongst others.

She is currently part of several musical projects. The projects include her own band ‘MAY’, the duo ‘Tumla’ (with double bassist Anneleen Boehme), the jazz trio ‘Wolf trio’ with Marjan Van Rompay and Wout Gooris and the vocal ensemble ‘Birds on a Wire’. She also writes music for theatre. The socially-artistic theatre group Tutti Fratelli was her latest project.

She likes to challenge herself constantly in finding new musical adventures. She loves to explore her voice and her own way of creating music.

Amazumi

AMAZUMI is a Nepalese artist raised in Hong Kong. She began actively pursuing music in London, 2010 while making a documentary about an artist based in Belgium. She began honing her skills in local cyphers, open mics and self-organised events. She found herself taking her music further in Ghent, Belgium. It was a cherishing artistic community that gave her the perfect place to grow and create a sound of her own.

Previously known as Zulu Moon, she has been regularly performing in venues and festivals all over Belgium since 2012. She made multiple radio appearances. She notched a national buzz in 2017 as one of the 7 finalists of De Nieuwe Lichting. She made her debut as AMAZUMI on the Ancienne Belgique main stage after releasing her new single V for Venom. At the time, her music video circulated daily on XITE channel, premiered on Chase.be, Flus.be and De Standaard.

She Infused the grungy & nu-metal sounds of Nirvana & RATM that she grew up with. She brushed up her lyrical edges with OG influences of Jean Grae, Zack De La Rocha as well as newer artists like Show me the Body, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Boog Brown & Loyle Carner. Her musical flow is brave and without the pompous ego. She is a frontrunner in dark lyrical arts. Her music is however, bland on lighter days. You can never predict what’s coming next. She is currently residing in the UK and working on a series project ‘Amazumi in Exile’.
